SUSTAINABLE TOURISM, TRADE & INVESTMENT CONFERENCE.
TANGIER - 16 OCTOBER 2008
The Middle East Association is organising a one-day conference
in
Tangier on 16 October to promote UK/Moroccan co-operation
in the
development of sustainable tourism, and to highlight
major trade and
investment opportunities in Morocco.
The conference is being held under the patronage of the
Moroccan
Ministry of Trade & Industry, and in partnership with
the Moroccan British
Business Council. A provisional programme is attached. Main
agenda
items will be:
- Major new projects in Northern Morocco, including
the new
US$5.5 billion Tangier Med Port and Free Zone, and the
development of the region as a major strategic hub close
to Europe.
- Sustainable tourism and real estate development,
including the
Plan Azur, the rapid increase in Gulf investment, and opportunities
for co-operation in professional training, green building,
renewable
energy, water management and cultural preservation.
- Project finance and public/private partnerships,
including opportunities for UK investors and professional
advisors.
Participants will include senior Moroccan Ministers and private
sector representatives. It will be an excellent networking
opportunity. A programme of site visits will be offered on
17 October to key projects in Northern Morocco including Tangier
Med Port and new real estate developments.
The conference will take place at Tangier’s historic
El Minzah Hotel which is offering a special discounted rate
for conference delegates.
